Towson Kicks Off Summer Restaurant Week 2014

More than one dozen Towson area eateries are participating in the special two-week event.

As part of Baltimore County’s Summer Restaurant Week, 64 restaurants across the county are offering menus at a discounted, fixed price until Aug. 24.

One to three-course lunch and dinner specials are available, from $10.14 to $35.14.

Towson’s Oyster Bay Grille hosted a kickoff event last week, which local officials attended to promote the two-week affair.

“This is a great time to experience places you’ve been meaning to try,” Baltimore County Chamber President Keith Scott said. “It’s also a great time to experience the many diverse cuisines in the county and support the local restaurant industry.”

Among the Towson establishments participating in restaurant week are 7 West Bistro Grille (7 W. Chesapeake Ave.), Cafe Troia (31 Allegheny Ave.), Charles Village Pub (19 W. Pennsylvania Ave.), Cunningham’s (1 Olympic Place), The Greene Turtle (408 York Rd.), Havana Road Cuban Cafe (8 W. Pennsylvania Ave.), McFaul’s Ironhorse Tavern (2260 Cromwell Bridge Rd.), The Melting Pot (418 York Rd.), Mount Washington Tavern (5700 Newbury St.), Orchard Market and Cafe (8815 Orchard Tree Lane), Oyster Bay Grille (1 E. Joppa Rd.), Razorback’s Raw Bar and Grill (826 Dulaney Valley Rd.), Souris’ Saloon (537 York Rd.) and Towson Tavern (516 York Rd.).

In 2012, Baltimore County’s restaurant sales brought in $1.4 billion, ranking them the second highest in the state, surpassed only by Montgomery County, which had $1.8 billion in restaurant sales, according to a statement from Baltimore County.
