Towson to Welcome World of Beer

Craft beer enthusiasts will have a new place to fill up.

Craft beer lovers have a reason to celebrate this fall in Towson.

World of Beer is opening a tavern on Joppa Road in September.

The location at 125 East Joppa Road will include a 4,600-square-foot tavern and 400-square-foot patio.

Local brews such as Halethorpe’s Heavy Seas, Baltimore’s Union Craft, Laurel’s Jailbreak and Frederick’s Flying Dog will be flowing, and breweries may hold tap takeovers and beer education classes.

Taps in Towson will rotate daily to expose visitors to a variety of craft beers, and a beer cooler visible through the restaurant’s windows will showcase daily offerings.

“Whether you’re a passionate beer lover or simply looking for a friendly place to gather for great casual food and a drink, we hope to see you here,” Towson World of Beer’s General Manager Charlie Devaughn said.

Lunch and dinner will be available daily, with a menu featuring bar food with a twist, such as a Guinness ”Brat” slider and giant Bavarian pretzels.

The World of Beer franchise has more than 70 locations in 20 states. The Towson tavern will be the second in Maryland; the other one is located in McHenry Row in Baltimore City.

World of Beer-Towson will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Happy hour will be on tap weekdays, with live music Thursday to Saturday.
