Towson Winterfest 2019: Tree Lighting, Fire & Ice, Ugly Sweaters

Santa breakfasts, local shopping deals, Baltimore County's tree lighting and other events are happening for Winterfest 2019 in Towson.

TOWSON, MD — 'Tis the season for Towson Winterfest. This marks the 46th annual affair of the holiday celebration that happens between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Towson Winterfest serves as an open invitation to explore downtown Towson through a slew of festive happenings, from breakfast with Santa to a tree-lighting. The weeks-long event is sponsored by the Towson Chamber of Commerce and Baltimore County government.

Towson Winterfest began Nov. 29 and runs through Dec. 19.

Without further ado, here are the remaining events that make up Towson Winterfest 2019:

Ugly Sweater Happy Hours

Starting at 5 p.m. on Thursdays: Dec. 5, 12 and 19
Suit up in your favorite ugly holiday sweater to fill up on food and drink specials from 5 to 7 p.m. during holiday-themed happy hours. Find participating locations at towsonchamber.com.

Breakfast with the Grinch & Buddy the Elf
9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7
Charles Village Pub, 19 W. Pennsylvania Ave.
Kids can dine with Buddy the Elf and the Grinch; it's $6.99 for those 2–9 years old and $13.99 for those 10 and up.

Procrastinator’s Shopping Night
5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11
Downtown Towson
Locally-owned shops will offer deals, and The Greene Turtle will provide free gift wrapping.

Fire and Ice Family Night & Window Decorating Contest
6–9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 (It was postponed due to rain Friday, Dec. 13.)
Free s'mores and hot chocolate will be available as visitors take in the ice sculptures and festive windows around downtown Towson. Find the list of locations at towsonchamber.com.

Breakfast with the Snow Queen
9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14
Enjoy breakfast and crafts while snapping some pics with the Snow Queen. The event is for kids 12 and under and costs $10, including a kids meal. There will be a brunch menu for parents.

Breakfast with Santa & Friends
8:30–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14
Greene Turtle Towson, 408 York Road
Holiday characters, crafts, storytime and more will be on tap. The price is $8 for those ages 1-9, and $10 for those ages 10 and up.

Breakfast with Santa
11 a.m.–2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15
Nacho Mama’s Towson, 2 W. Pennsylvania Ave.
Take a pic with Santa and feast at this all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Tickets are $19 and also include an ornamental picture frame craft and holiday cocktail for adults.
