'Trophy' Building In Towson Set For Redevelopment
The building containing The Peppermill is slated for updates. The renovation will not impact the restaurant, officials say.

TOWSON, MD — A prominent building on York Road near the Interstate 695 interchange has sold and is slated for redevelopment. The 4 acres behind the building may also be developed, official said.
Heaver Plaza, which has an address of 1301 York Road, is described as a "trophy location," according to MacKenzie Vice President Sean Langford, who helped negotiate the purchase.
Updates are expected to begin in November, according to a statement from MacKenzie.

Renovation plans for the 111,000-square-foot building call for the following to be updated:
- Exterior
- Common areas
- Building systems
- Landscaping
- More than 4,000 square feet of ground-level retail space
- Patio addition to ground-level space
"We have already begun to receive numerous inquiries for the proposed ground-level retail," Langford said in a statement.

Longtime tenant The Peppermill restaurant will continue to be open through the renovations, officials said.
MacKenzie anticipates renovations will get underway in November and be completed by the end of 2019.
