“I am humbled by this recognition. I believe this is truly an affirmation of Towson
University and its role as an institution providing leadership for the public good,”
President Schatzel says. “I was honored to be included with such an accomplished group
of women in 2017 and 2019, and I look forward to getting to know this year’s group
of outstanding leaders.”

The recognition is the second top 100 honor for Schatzel this semester—following her
inclusion in The Daily Record's inaugural Power 100 list last month. Her contributions to and leadership in Maryland have been recognized
routinely by The Daily Record, which gave her its 2018 Icon Honors, named her one of the 2017 Most Admired CEOs and 2017 Most Influential Marylanders.

The Top 100 Women list recognizes outstanding achievements via professional accomplishments,
community leadership and mentoring. Those listed were selected by a panel of leaders
and past honorees.

The 2021 list was released March 25 and features five Towson University alumni. Named
to the list were Brooke Harlander ’13 (St. John Properties), Catalina Rodriguez-Lima
‘ 06 (Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs), Tonia Niedzialkowski ’91
(Point Breeze Credit Union), Kim Paradise ’92 (Mindgrub Technologies) and Divya Potdar
’09 (Diva Law, LLC)

The Daily Record said winners will be celebrated during an online event May 13. Towson
University serves as a leadership sponsor of the celebration honoring the winners.

"This year’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women are navigating Maryland businesses through extraordinary
times. They are defining the new normal while also leading their teams from survival
to success," says Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, group publisher of The Daily Record. "In
addition, this year’s honorees are actively involved in their communities while also
mentoring the next generation of leaders. We at The Daily Record are pleased to honor
them."
