Two Towson Companies Make Inc. 5000 List
Towson is home to two of the fastest growing companies in the country, according to Inc. magazine.

TOWSON, MD — Two companies in Towson made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America for 2018. There were a total of 111 businesses in Maryland that made the list, which the business magazine Inc. creates annually.
To find the top 5000 fastest growing companies in America, Inc. measured revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. In all, the Inc. 5000 companies earned $206.2 billion in revenue last year.

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center

Maryland Addiction Recovery Center is designed to help people suffering from substance abuse disorders. It offers detoxification, counseling and various phases of treatment, from residential to outpatient programs.

Motifworks grew out of an incubator at Towson University. In addition to its Towson office, the software development business that creates cloud and mobile solutions for companies has two locations in India.

Topping the INC 5000 was SwanLeap in Madison, Wisconsin. The software company uses automated programs to determine the best way — the fastest and cheapest — for companies to ship products. It grew 75,661 percent in the past three years, earning $99 million in revenue in 2017.
Coming in second was PopSockets out of Boulder, Colorado, which makes cell phone stands and mounts. And the third fastest growing company was Home Chef based in Chicago, Illinois, which delivers ingredients and meal kits.
