Unemployment Drops To 3.9 Percent: Baltimore County Government

"We all benefit when more people bring home a paycheck," Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler said.

From Baltimore County: In just one month, 4,000 people came off unemployment in Baltimore County. The Baltimore County unemployment rate is now 3.9%, lower than Maryland’s October rate. “Baltimore County’s unemployment rate hasn’t been this low since last December. We all benefit when more people bring home a paycheck,” said Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler. “Lower unemployment is a win for workers, families and our entire community. Baltimore County’s economy is clearly moving forward, but we know we can't take anything for granted and must continue to make progress,” said County Executive-Elect John Olszewski, Jr. Employment growth is driven by job creation in new business developments throughout the County, including Tradepoint Atlantic, downtown Towson, Owings Mills and expansions of the County’s major health care facilities.
