Man Dies In Towson Crash: Police
One person died in a crash in Towson Tuesday, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
TOWSON, MD — One person died when his car crashed into a pole in Towson Tuesday, according to authorities. Police said the man died at the scene of the wreck.
The crash occurred on East Joppa Road near Edgeclift Road before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Barry Martin Beynon, 74, of the 5000 block of Willow Branch Way in Owings Mills, was killed in the crash, according to officials.

Beynon had been driving his 2010 Nissan Altima east on Joppa Road when the car went off the road and hit a pole at 10:23 a.m., according to authorities. He was trapped, the Baltimore County Fire Department reported Tuesday morning.
Police later said that Beynon was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the investigation into what caused the crash was ongoing as of Tuesday night.

The crash reportedly occurred less than a week after another crash in the area injured a pedestrian.
According to Fox 45, a pedestrian was hit on Joppa at Lasalle roads after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and had to be airlifted for treatment.
That was 0.1 mile from the location where Tuesday's deadly crash occurred.
INITIAL REPORT — One person is trapped after crashing into a pole in Towson, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. Crews were working to rescue the individual after 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, officials said.
The vehicle hit the pole on Edgeclift Road at East Joppa Road at 10:23 a.m., according to authorities.
One vehicle was involved, and the individual inside was critically injured, officials reported.
