BREAKING: Schools will operate on a modified schedule in Baltimore County on Monday, Jan. 8, and some activities are canceled.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — With a wintry mix in the forecast Monday afternoon and evening, public schools in Baltimore County have modified their schedules. Dismissal time will occur earlier than usual, and afternoon and evening activities have been canceled, officials announced.

All Baltimore County Public Schools will close three hours early on Monday, Jan. 8, according to the announcement.

Afternoon prekindergarten is canceled on Monday, Jan. 8.

Baltimore County is under a winter weather advisory calling for freezing rain during the afternoon and evening commute. Roads may be slippery, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued the winter weather advisory from 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8.
