BCPS Changes Schedule For February 12

Due to inclement weather, Baltimore County Public Schools has updated its status for Tuesday.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Baltimore County are closed on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Officials made the announcement Tuesday morning, just before 7 a.m.

School offices will open two hours late on Tuesday.

This is the second day in a row that public schools are closed in Baltimore County.

A winter storm warning is in effect for northern Baltimore County until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, calling for up to 9 inches of snow near the Pennsylvania state line, including snow that fell between Sunday and Monday.

Parts of the county received more than 4 inches of snow on Monday, based on preliminary reports to the National Weather Service. Long Green reported a measurement of 4.5 inches of accumulation.

Morning prekindergarten is canceled on Tuesday, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.

Inclement weather was the reason for the delay Tuesday morning, school officials said, after classes were canceled Monday due to inclement weather.

A wintry mix fell across the county on Monday.

Long Green, north of Towson, reported getting 4 inches of snow, based on preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service.

The winter weather continues Tuesday. Northern Baltimore County is under a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, calling for up to 9 inches of snow.

Other parts of the county are under a winter weather advisory for sleet and freezing rain until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
