Plans for Towson Circulator Turn a Corner
Preliminary recommendations will be presented on Dec. 9.

A group that has been studying transit options for Towson residents will present its recommendations at an upcoming meeting, according to Baltimore County Councilman David Marks.
Since the summer, the Greater Towson Committee’s Transportation and Placemaking Committee has been meeting to discuss the potential for the “Towson circulator,” Marks said.
Marks, whose district includes Towson, formed the committee to brainstorm ways of decreasing traffic congestion while increasing access to downtown as development and density increase, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The idea was to have something like the bus that links college campuses around Towson but for residents, according to the newspaper, which said the circulator would be free.
The circulator committee will present its preliminary recommendations on Tuesday in the Baltimore County Council Chambers, Marks said.

Acording to the Towson Times, the group will propose two routes: one along the York Road corridor to the roundabout and another from senior communities to local hospitals.

Marks said his office is sponsoring the meeting to gain input on the best way to increase access between downtown and the surrounding communities.
“I invite all residents and business owners to share their perspective on the need for a Towson circulator,” Marks said. “My personal view is that we need to explore options like this to improve mobility and plan for future growth.”
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Baltimore County Council Chambers, at 400 Washington Avenue, in Towson. If Baltimore County Public Schools are closed due to weather, the meeting will be postponed.
