The tried-and-true way to get free treats on Halloween is to knock on doors and say, "trick-or-treat!" For kids (or grown-ups!) looking to eat something more substantial than candy, these restaurants in Maryland have free or low-cost Halloween promotions, no door knocking required.
Applebee's: Children in costume under 12 years old can get a free kid's meal with an adult entree purchase (up to two per family) on Halloween.
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse: Get $3 Pizookie desserts through Oct. 31.

Baja Fresh: With the purchase of an adult entree, children can get a free kids meal. People must be members of "Club Baja."
Baskin Robbins: Enjoy a regular or kid-sized scoop for $1.50 at participating locations. They'll have seasonal favorites, like pumpkin or "trick Oreo treat" for you to try.

Bertucci's: Now through Halloween, children can get one kid's entree for free with the purchase of an adult entree of $10.99 or more. Good on dine-in meals only.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.: Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entree.
Chick-fil-A: Children in costume can receive a free treat when they dine in from 5 to 7 p.m. Check with your location to ensure it is participating in the offer.
Chipotle: Adults and kids who come in costume on Halloween can get a $3 "boo-rito" (bowls, salads and tacos are also part of the promotion).
Chuck E. Cheese's: While supplies last, people can get a free slice of "Candy Corn" pizza from 4 to 8 p.m. on the hour on Halloween. Kids in costume get 50 free tickets throughout October.
CiCi's Pizza: Children in costume eat for free with the purchase of an adult buffet and drink. One child per adult can take advantage of this deal.
IHOP: Kids 12 and under can make free scary face pancakes at IHOP between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Halloween. They'll get strawberries, whipped cream, Oreos and candy corn to play with.
Krispy Kreme: With the purchase of a bucket of original glazed doughnut holes, people can receive a free glow-in-the-dark bucket at participating locations, while supplies last.

On The Border: For $12.99, you can get 12 mini Boo-ritos for takeout on Halloween.
Outback Steakhouse: Kids can get a free dirt cup dessert with any kids meal on Halloween.
Pizza Hut: Use code SCARYGOOD25 to get 25 percent off online orders through Halloween. (You can't combine it with other deals, though.)
Sonic: Kids and adults can grab a 50 cent corn dog at Sonic, all day long. No costume required for this deal.
