Women's Basketball: Tigers End 6-Game Skid
Ledbetter, Parnell, and Petronyte score in double digits; Miliauskaite catches 500th career rebound.

With Towson and William & Mary tied for last-place in their conference, one thing was certain Sunday night: one team was staying there.
Towson's offense roared to life against the Tribe as they rolled to a 66-55 finish at home, ending a six-game slump. Krystal Parnell scored 17 points, her fourth-straight double-digit scoring effort.
Senior Simona Petronyte added 14 points and shot four of five from the 3-point arc. Junior Sheree Ledbetter also scored 17 points. The Tigers shot a combined 46 percent from the field; including 62 percent on 3-point attempts. Senior Doville Milauskaite continued her milestone season, grabbing her 500th career rebound.

“The team is excited about the win, as am I. This is the culmination of the last 10 days," said Towson head coach Joe Mathews.
The Tigers (8-14, 2-9 CAA) and the Tribe (2-19, 1-10 CAA) traded the lead 10 different times during the first half.

Petronyte shot two three point shots to stay neck and neck with the Tribe’s ferocious outburst. William and Mary went to their offensive weapon junior Taysha Pye early and often.
Pye scored 12 points in the first half. No matter what her shot selection: layups, mid range shots, and the occasional deep two points, she was deadly. Several times her shots brought William & Mary back from a deficit.
With under two minutes left in the first half, Towson’s Miliauskaite grabbed her milestone rebound. The rebound not only secured her place in Towson’s basketball history, but also turned the ball back to Towson for Sheree Ledbetter to lay it in for the lead at 33-31.
From that point on Towson never gave back the lead.
Krystal Parnell had 8 of her 17 points in the second half, helping the Tigers build their lead to a peak of 13.
“(Krystal) is much more consistent now, but we need someone else to step up every night. Not just her,“ Mathews said.
Towson looks to stay on the winning path this Thursday when Delaware comes to the Towson Center with a 7 pm. tip off.
