UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Three people were killed in an overnight crash involving a rideshare car, a motorcycle and an apparent third hit-and-run vehicle in Upper Marlboro, according to police.
Troopers responded to the scene around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on Route 301 at Governors Park Lane, state police said.
The deceased were identified as 48-year-old Matthew Eric Vowell, who was driving the motorcycle, as well as his passenger, 47-year-old Krystal Ann Vowell, both of Friendship, and 22-year-old Adriana Lanae Maxwell of Glen Burnie, a passenger in the rideshare, according to police. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Tesla was taken to a local hospital, according to police.
The crash occurred when the rideshare, a Tesla Model 3, was trying to turn left from Route 301 onto Governors Park Lane but failed to yield to a southbound Harley-Davidson, resulting in the motorcycle striking the car’s passenger side, police said.
Investigators believe a third vehicle struck Krystal Ann Vowell after the crash and left the scene, according to police, who are asking anyone with information to call 410-819-4753. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
