Juried Student Art Exhibition Taking Place at PGCC through Dec. 8

Nearly 300 artists are showcasing their talents at Prince George's Community College.

The Juried Student Art Exhibition is taking place through Dec. 8 in Marlboro Gallery on the Largo campus. 

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the Student Art League, will include more than 163 designs, drawings, paintings, watercolors, photography, digital art, ceramics and sculptures. Prominent judges from the Washington metropolitan area will review the exposition.

"Prince George’s Community College has some of the most thoughtful and engaged students in the country and this competitive exhibition is among the Washington area’s best," said Thomas Berault, director of Marlboro Gallery, in a press release. "Our students have offered everything from self-portraits and pottery to 3-D still photography."

Awards in 13 categories, including ceramics, drawings, animation and multimedia and 3D stills, will be presented during a reception on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in Marlboro Gallery. Winners will receive certificates, medallions and trophies for first, second and third place entries.

Works of art will be on sale, and the exhibit and award reception are free and open to the public.
