Become a voice for a child in foster care!

CASA is accepting applications for our Summer Training! Learn how you can make a difference in the life of a child in foster care.

Do you want to make a difference in the life of abused or abandoned children in your community? There are over 500 children and youth in foster care in Prince George’s County and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to advocate for these youth.

Apply by June 12th for our Summer Training that will be Mondays and Wednesdays July 13 – July 29 from 10am to 4pm in Temple Hills, MD. Once screened and trained, volunteers will be matched with one child each and appointed to the case by the courts. In about 10-15 hours a month, CASA volunteers create relationships with youth in foster care to ensure that the court and child welfare systems remain focused on their specific needs and in finding a safe permanent home. Because they are appointed by the court, CASA Volunteers are able to communicate with all parties related to the child’s individual case.

Will you speak for abused and neglected children in your community? Apply by June 12th to be considered. Applicants must be 21 or older and willing to complete a background check. CASA is seeking individuals who are able to make a minimum one year commitment once assigned to a child. For more information, please visit our website at www.pgcasa.org or call 301-209-0491 or email DKayser@pgcasa.org.
