Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation presents the 3rd Annual American Indian Festival, celebrating Native American culture and heritage, at Patuxent River Park. This year's master of ceremonies is Dennis Zotigh, an Oklahoma resident who is a member of the Kiowa Gourd Clan and San Juan Pueblo Winter Clan, and a descendent of Sitting Bear and No Retreat, both principal war chiefs of the Kiowas. The event will feature live traditional drumming, singing and musical performances, storytelling, hoop and other traditional dances, craft tables, demonstrations such as weaving and bareback horse riding, traditional Indian food and a raffle. Admission and parking are free; most activities are free, and there are nominal fees for food and vendor sales.
