Prince George's County residents are invited to a day of festivities in honor of African American Emancipation Day. The observation of June 19 began in Texas in 1865, making this the oldest nationally celebrated event commemorating the end of slavery. This free program will feature music, children's activities, educational exhibits, speakers and genealogical workshops. Bring the family and a picnic lunch!
