Enjoy a canoe trip along the Mattaponi Creek in Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and learn about marshes. This program is open to people of all ages and experience levels. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Participants should bring their own drinking water, sunscreen, bug spray, snacks/lunch and comfortable walking shoes. Please note: The bridge on Fenno Road to Merkle is closed for repairs until further notice. From Rte. 301, take Croom Road. Instead of turning onto St. Thomas Church Road (as most GPS units and maps will suggest), continue on Croom Road, then make a left onto Nottingham Road and a left onto Fenno Road.
