Although Lavette Clairborne lives in District Heights, she stopped by the Beltway Plaza Giant in Greenbelt to stock up on water in advance of this week's shortage.
She learned about the water shortage this morning and decided to buy water bottles and gallon containers before she picked up her husband from work in Greenbelt.
"I just wanted to make sure me and my family had enough water," she said.
WSSC encourages residents in the affected areas to purchase water tonight. Although the water will be shut off at 9 p.m., water will be available in homes until late tomorrow morning, according to WSSC.
