Former Dr. Henry A. Wise Student to Play Ball at Morgan State

Daryl Traynham heads to Morgan State University after stints at UMass and Palm Beach State.

Point guard Daryl Traynham, of Upper Marlboro, has signed a national letter of intent with the Morgan State University men’s basketball team, according to the Morgan State Bears website.

Traynham began his college basketball career at UMass in 2010 as a freshman, but was suspended from the team in January 2011 after violating an unspecified team rule, and left the team a short time later, according to masslive.com.  He went on to play basketball at a junior college in Florida before signing with Morgan State this month.

The 5-9, 180-pound point guard lead Palm Beach State Panthers to a 26-5 record last season, and the FCSAA/District 8 State Semifinals.

In the 2011-2012 season, Traynham averaged 10.8 points per game, 5.7 assists and 2.5 steals for the Panthers.
