Heave Fire Breaks Out at Carpet Store in Suitland: UPDATE

SUITLAND, MD - Firefighters responded to a heavily-involved fire at a carpet store in Suitland Sunday evening. The store is located right across the U.S. Census Bureau building in the 4600 block of Silver Hill Road.

Prince George’s County Fire PIO Mark Brady wrote on Twitter that the building was initially believed to be a part of a strip mall but later said it was a stand alone building.

As of 7:10 p.m., Brady wrote the bulk of the fire had been knocked down and firefighters were working on overhaul and putting out hotspots.

No injuries have been reported and the fire is under investigation.
