Mitchellville Man Appointed to State Pension Panel
Rob Hagans, Executive Vice President of AARP Maryland, is the 'perfect choice' for the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System.

Rob Hagans, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of AARP Maryland, was recently appointed to the state Retirement and Pension System, according to an AARP press release.
Gov. Martin OβMalley (D) announced Hagansβ appointment on Nov. 21. Hagans, who lives in Mitchellville, replaces Robert Schaefer on the pension panel.
βHis steadfast belief in fiscal stewardship and years of expertise in financial management will serve us well as we work together to develop a more sustainable and effective system for all state employees,β OβMalley said in a statement.

In July 2001, Hagans joined AARP as its CFO. Prior to that job, he worked as Prince Georgeβs Countyβs finance director. Hagans was also the chairman of the countyβs Risk and Management Committee and a trustee on the countyβs Police and Fire Service Pension Plan panel.Β Β
