National Night Out 2017 In Upper Marlboro

Communities throughout Prince George's County have National Night Out events planned for Aug. 1.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Upper Marlboro residents and police will celebrate neighborhoods and get to know each other Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the 34th annual National Night Out observances.

National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is designed to generate neighborhood support and participation in crime prevention efforts and to enhance police and community relations, officials said.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, many communities celebrate with a events to help neighbors get to know one another and to build community spirit.

Upper Marlboro residents are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to the Dutch Village Farmers Market at 5030 Brown Station Rd. from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Residents can expect a moon bounce, music, food, kids corner and more.
