Prince George's County Courthouse Closed Friday

Water pipe burst caused electrical outage.

There’s one more closing to deal with on Friday in Prince George’s County.

The county courthouse in Upper Marlboro is closed after a water pipe burst and caused an electrical outage.

No trials are being held on Friday in either the District Court or Circuit Court in Upper Marlboro. The Hyattsville location of the District Court will be open, and District Court bond hearings will be held there at 1:15 p.m. Circuit Court bond hearings will be held at the Prince George’s County detention center at noon. All new domestic violence petitions can be filed at the Hyattsville location.

The Circuit Court Judiciary Services Building and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Unit located in the County Administration Building will be open during regular business hours to serve the public.

Crews are working at the Upper Marlboro courthouse to repair damage and restore power. It is not known when repairs will be completed.
