School officials make weather decision for Thursday, March 5. Also, transit officials warn service will be slow and on major roads only.

With some forecasts calling for up to 8 inches of snow to fall in the area, public schools and school offices in Prince Georgeβs County will be closed on Thursday, March 5, school officials announced.

Transit service on the Prince Georgeβs County TheBus will only be provided on major arterials and collector roadways Thursday because of the forecast for heavy snow. As conditions permit, TheBus routes will serve residential streets where safe access and egress allow.
Roadway conditions will be evaluated and monitored throughout the day, transit officials said, and frequent NextBus system alerts and service status updates will be provided for all TheBus routes.
