School's Out, Learning's Still In

Today marks the last day of school for Prince George's County Public School students, but summer packets are now available online.

School may be letting out for the summer today, but that doesn’t mean kids need to take a hiatus from learning.

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) summer activity packets are now available online for students entering kindergarten through eighth grade, according to a PGCPS press release.

The intent of the packet is to reinforce math, reading, language arts, science and other skills to help students be better prepared for the 2012-2013 school year.

The packets are optional, but PGCPS encourages all parents to download the packets so their children can keep up to speed with the daily activities during the summer months. Some teachers may even offer feedback, according to a PCGPS press release, and parents should ask about class credit for completion of the packets.

Packets can be downloaded here

PGCPS students’ last day of class for the 2011-2012 school year is today, Friday, June 8.
