Sen. Barbara Mikulski Endorses Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown secured the endorsement of another top Democrat.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski is backing Lt. Gov. Anthony Brownβs bid to become the next governor of Maryland.
Mikulski, the powerful chairwoman of the U.S. Senateβs Appropriations Committee, has been an ally of Gov. Martin OβMalley, who served as state field director for her Senate campaign in 1986. OβMalley is also backing Brownβs attempt to succeed him."I support Anthony Brown because Iβve worked with him for 15 years, watching up close as he solved the most pressing problems facing Maryland families and women. I see in Anthony the fantastic values I most admire β heβs honorable, heβs patriotic and heβs willing to tackle the tough issues,"Β U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski said in a news release.

Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur are also running for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2014.
Brown has already received endorsements from Rep. Steny Hoyer, Rep. Elijah Cummings, Rep Donna Edwards and State Senate President Thomas V. βMikeβ Miller Jr., according to a news release.Β
