Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro Closed, Nothing Suspicious Found After Threat Called in [UPDATE]

A threat was called into the park around 1:30 p.m., police said.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Six Flags in Upper Marlboro was evacuated Saturday and is closed for the rest of the day after a threat was phoned in.

According to Prince George's County police, a threat was called into the park around 1:30 p.m. Police did not issue any evacuation orders but the park decided to close early.

Police have completed a sweep of the park and found nothing suspicious. NBC Washington reported there were around 3000 people in the park at the time of the evacuation.

The park was hosting a private event on Saturday.
