Suspected Impaired Driver Hits State Trooper In Prince George's County
A 32-year-old Upper Marlboro man has been arrested following the Saturday morning crash.
BRANDYWINE, MD — An Upper Marlboro man is in custody for accusations he drove while under the influence and ran into a state trooper early Saturday in Prince George’s County, police said.
Rayshaud Davon Shield, 32, was driving a Ford F-150 in the area of southbound Branch Avneue near Moores Road when his truck collided with the Maryland State Police trooper at about 7 a.m., according to a news release.
Authorities say the trooper had the emergency lights activated on his patrol car while he checked on a car parked in the right lane, according to the news release. The Ford F-150 hit the back of the patrol car, which then ran into the trooper.

The trooper was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center for
treatment and has since been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
