Three lanes of northbound Pennsylvania Avenue near Woodward Road were closed due to the crash.
Police told WJLA-TV it appears the four-car pileup was a chain reaction that began with a Chevrolet Silverado rear-ended an Infiniti around 12:45 p.m. The Infiniti in turn rear-ended a third vehicle, which in turn rear-ended a truck that was towing a boat.
