The 14-screen complex, once an alternative to St. Charles Towne Center's AMC, closed without explanation, and the property's owner has not announced any future plans for the large building.
• Man Airlifted After Suffering Facial Burns From Vehicle Coolant in Waldorf (thebaynet.com) — Emergency crews airlifted a man from Waldorf on Wednesday after coolant from a vehicle reportedly sprayed his face, causing second-degree burns. Fire and EMS responded to Primrose Court, treated him on scene, then flew him to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for further care while the exact cause of the coolant release remains unclear.
• Welcome to the Nest: NCCU Unveils 2026-27 Men's Basketball Roster (nccueaglepride.com) — A familiar local name is heading to Division I basketball, as Waldorf native and St. Charles High School alum Bryce Selby joins North Carolina Central's 2026–27 men's roster. The Eagles are bringing in 14 newcomers overall, many with strong junior college or HBCU experience, to bolster their size and depth for the upcoming season.
