Authentic Mexican Food and Festive Decor Await You at Papa Joe’s in Westminster
Papa Joe's on Main St. offers an extensive line of Mexican dishes and a quaint dining atmosphere for both friends and family.
On April 23, José and Trish Alejandrez will celebrate the four year anniversary of the opening of Papa Joe’s Mexican Restaurant in Westminster. A native of Oaxaca, Mexico, Jose strives to serve the most authentic food from his family recipes, using only fresh ingredients.
Papa Joe’s is clearly a family endeavor as José’s brothers assist in the daily operation and the restaurant was named after Trish’s father, Joe. Trish and José take pride in the fact that one of them is always on duty at the restaurant, while the other is busy with their three small children.
The menu offers a variety of dishes including appetizers, soups and complete Mexican dinners. The chicken enchilada in green sauce is a great choice if you are looking for a moderately spicy meal. This dish is two hand rolled enchiladas topped with verde sauce and cheese, served with rice and beans or a salad. The enchiladas can be made with flour or corn at your request. Dessert offers the traditional choices of sopapillas, tres leches and fried ice cream.

Since opening in 2007, Papa Joe’s has become increasingly busy. It is a popular lunch spot for many local business employees as well as a place to bring the entire family for dinner.
“People in Westminster have been so gracious and welcoming to us,” said Trish. While most of the customer traffic is local, José says it is very common to have customers drive up from Baltimore. “We have even had a couple who drove in from New Jersey just to eat here.”
