Carroll Composite CAP Squadron works with community partners
Carroll squadron cadets & seniors work with MDANG 175th Wing on cook detail.

Middle River, Maryland. The Civil Air Patrol Carroll Composite Squadron supports its community in many ways. One activity is with our collaboration with the Maryland Air National Guard (ANG) 175th Wing on cook details. On Aug. 2, 2014, nine Carroll cadets and four senior members volunteered with ANG personnel to prepare and serve hundreds of ANG members a midday meal.
ANG mess staff delegated and monitored duty assignments which varied from food preparation to cleanup. Everyone helped to prepare a complete meal including entrée’s salads, sides and deserts. Carroll cadets took on their assignments with gusto. Cadet Chief Master Sergeant (C/CMSgt) Christopher Alder, chef extraordinaire, took charge of grilling hundreds of pork chops. After food preparation, cadets Alder, C/CMSgt Caleb and Staff Sergeant Jonah Scanlan, C/CMSgt Landon Thorpe and Technical Sergeant Taylor Schwartzbeck joined Carroll seniors 2nd Lieutenants (Lt) Randall Budge and Sandra Yerger on the meal service line. Squadron commander LtCol Frank Jarosinski and 1st Lt Brian Woryk assisted by cadet airmen Jacob Evangelist, and Jonathan Blake worked tray detail and all helped to clean the area after the meal was served. Cadets and ANG personnel, worked together as cohesive unit to a successful end. Although it was hard work, the gratitude expressed by ANG personnel was well appreciated.
The Carroll Composite Squadron as part of the Civil Air Patrol is committed to providing extensive opportunities for cadets and seniors to learn, have fun, be part of a team that is also involved with its community in emergency services and support of Homeland security. Teens and adults are extended an open invitation to join us in our commitment to excellence. Come, be part of a great life-fulfilling experience!!
