Carroll Cosmetology Students Create 'Whoville' Hair Designs

Cosmetology students in Carroll County Public Schools are competing in a Dr. Seuss-inspired contest.

From Carroll County Tech Center: Students in the Cosmetology program at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center are creating “Whoville” theatrical hair designs based on the Jim Carrey version of The Grinch. This is the sixth year that the program has sponsored this project.

The students use various craft, garland, glitter, and numerous accessories to add to their manikin head. The creations will be judged by staff from the Tech Center and Central Office, as well as local hairstylists. The 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd place winners will receive more than $300 in prizes.

According to Cosmetology instructor Wendy Litchfield, “The students really enjoy creating their masterpieces, and it gives them a taste of what working in theater could be like.” Students are currently at work on their creations, and judging will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.
