Carroll Lutheran Plants Berry Bushes
The bushes and planting services were gifted to the Village

Carroll Lutheran Village resident Jean Hauck (left) and Deacon Laura Heller with the Creation Care Ministry of the Delaware-Maryland Synod of the ELCA and Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake (right) broke ground for the planting of 66 berry bushes at Carroll Lutheran Village on May 21.
The bushes were donated to the Village through Interfaith Partners of the Chesapeake and were planted by Boy Scout Troop 582 from New Windsor led by Eagle Scout Evan Barnes. The bushes were divided between two gardens on the 100-acre campus. Village residents will maintain the bushes into the future as they bear fruit.
Carroll Lutheran Village is an accredited, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community in Westminster with approximately 700 residents in 398 homes and apartments, 50 assisted living suites in the Diven House and 103 skilled nursing beds in the Health Care Center.
