Carroll Lutheran Village to Host World Day of Prayer

Annual Event Rescheduled for March 23

Women, men and children in more than 170 countries and regions celebrated the annual World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 2, 2018. The Carroll County event was rescheduled to March 23 due to inclement weather. Carroll Lutheran Village will host the Carroll County service beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Krug Chapel Auditorium.

The service was written by the women of the World Day of Prayer Committee of Suriname, who focus on Genesis 1, the story of Creation, with the theme “All God’s Creation is Very Good!” Universal issues of climate change, natural disasters, pollution and human abuse of the environment – all affecting God’s good Creation and God’s people – will be explored.

The ecumenical service, planned locally by Church Women United of Carroll County, includes students from Carroll Lutheran School in Westminster as part of the procession and service. Men, women and children of all faiths are invited and welcome to attend the service at Carroll Lutheran Village.
