Three Westminster men have been charged with stealing an electronic speed sign, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's office.

WESTMINSTER, MD — Three Westminster men have been charged with stealing an electronic speed sign, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's office. The speed board, which is worth $5,200, was taken about 2:15 a.m. from the 800 block of Lucabaugh Mill Road, officials say.
The device is parked in various neighborhoods throughout Carroll County to warn drivers to reduce their speed. Authorities say the speed sign is equipped with several theft-deterrent devices, including an anti-tamper system with GPS capability.
About 9 a.m. Thursday, members of the department's Repeat Offender Proactive Enforcement Team reportedly found the stolen sign at a residence in the 300 block of Watercress Road in Westminster. The sign was not damaged during its travels.
