The steering committee for the Washington Road Community Trail, has organized this race as a way to raise funds to maintain and improve this wonderful trail. The goal is to create and sustain a low maintenance, inter-generational, scenic hiking/running/walking trail that provides environmental, recreational and fitness opportunities. There are different levels and functions of the trail to accommodate all ages and needs. The WRC Trail hopes to encourage the community to respect the environment.

In addition to race participants, the Trail committee is also looking for volunteers to serve as Race Marshals to direct people around the course and individuals to help register runners and answer questions during the event.
