Father Died After Sledding Crash, Son Hospitalized: Sheriff
The crash between a sled and Jeep was fatal, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office reports.

MANCHESTER, MD — A man died over the weekend after he and his son sledded out of a driveway and into the road, where they were hit by an SUV, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
Adam French, 35, of Baltimore, was pronounced deceased at 8:52 p.m. on Sunday, officials said.
His 4-year-old son, who was hospitalized after the crash, is expected to recover.

French was visiting relatives Saturday morning when he and his son sledded down a driveway in the 3200 block of Lineboro Road and ended up in the street, where a southbound 2004 Jeep Cherokee hit them, according to the sheriff's office.
At 10:47 a.m., deputies and fire personnel from Lineboro and Manchester were called to the crash.

French was taken to Carroll Hospital Center and transferred to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died Sunday evening, officials reported.
Originally, his 4-year-old son was taken to Sinai Hospital in critical condition; by Monday morning, authorities said the boy's status had improved and he was expected to survive.
Jeep driver Max Nickey, 31, of Westminster, and his passenger were uninjured, officials reported. Charges were not expected in the case.
