International aging expert and author Dr. Bill Thomas to speak in York May 23 on behaviors and attitudes toward aging

York County Community Foundation and Embracing Aging are proud to present, in partnership with York College of Pennsylvania, "The Journey to

Dr. Thomas is an internationally recognized author, geriatrician, entrepreneur, musician, teacher, farmer and visionary whose wide-ranging work explores the terrain of human aging. His presentation — rescheduled from January due to Winter Storm Jonas — will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, in the Waldner Performing Arts Center at York College.

One of the most innovative thinkers in medicine, Dr. Thomas explains that a new life phase is beginning to emerge within our society. When the Baby Boomer generation came of age in the 1960s and 1970s, they jump-started a cultural revolution that shaped today’s society. Predicting that Boomers will choose the path of the Denialist, the Realist, or the Enthusiast, he discusses the behaviors and attitudes that will provide new and more nourishing fuel for the rest of life’s journey: Hope and a renewed sense of all that is possible.

“We are thrilled to host Dr. Thomas, as we believe his presentation is the perfect compliment to the goals of Embracing Aging and its work to make York County a great place to age,” said Cathy Bollinger, managing director for Embracing Aging. “His work directly connects with ours as we strive to improve attitudes toward aging.”
