Photos: Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Men donned their favorite heels Saturday to support the Rape Crisis Intervention Services of Carroll County.

Main Street was taken over Saturday by men wearing high heels. Their statement had nothing to do with fashion, the crowd was participating in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event to benefit the of Carroll County.

According to walkamileinhershoes.org, Frank Baird created the event in 2001. What started out as a small group of men daring to totter around a park has grown to become a world-wide movement with tens of thousands of men raising millions of dollars for local rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters and other sexualized violence education, prevention and remediation programs.
