Police: Body Found in Westminster Had No Obvious Trauma

Maryland State Police said the medical examiner performed autopsy, additional results are pending.

The autopsy of a man found in a Westminster home Wednesday showed no obvious signs of trauma, according to Maryland State Police.

Brian L. Sampson, 27, of no fixed address, was located in the attic of a vacant home in the 1000 block of Taneytown Pike, police reported.

Sampson was wanted for a violation of parole, and detectives with Westminster Police and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office tracked him via a monitoring bracelet he was wearing as a condition of his parole, according to the report.

After 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officials searched the vacant house and found Sampson lying in the attic, police reported.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, which was conducted Thursday, according to the report.

Police said officials are awaiting toxicology and tissue test results before identifying a cause and manner of death.
