Missing Juvenile Found in Harrisburg, Returned to Parents (Update)

A 12-year-old Hampstead boy who was reported missing Thursday morning was found and returned to his parents Thursday night.

A 12-year-old Hampstead boy who was reported missing Thursday morning was found in Harrisburg, Pa. Thursday evening and returned to his parents, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office. 

Michael Swiney was found at a restaurant by Pa. State Police and taken into custody without incident according to a news release. Police said charges are pending.

Officers from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office are searching for a Hampstead boy who has been missing since Thursday morning, Sgt. Juan Bustos said.

Police say he may be driving his father's Chevy Traverse vehicle.

Lt. Pat Fisher of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said earlier Thursday that officials are currently investigating a missing 12-year-old boy who they believe is driving a vehicle from the area of Manchester towards Mount Airy. 

According to a missing child alert posted on "A Child Is Missing," a nonprofit organization's site that aims to help law enforcement, Michael Swiney, 12, has brown hair and hazel eyes and is approximately 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey beanie, white t-shirt, black jeans and white/black tennis shoes. He was last seen near 1743 Brodbeck Road in Hampstead this morning, Thursday, April 18.

Carroll County law enforcement officials confirmed Thursday that they filed the description with the "Child is Missing" website.

He may be traveling in a 2009 maroon Chevy Traverse with a Maryland State tag, plate number 36545M9, according to the missing child alert.
