Minor Chemical Spill Occurred: McDaniel College

WESTMINSTER, MD - Two buildings are closed at McDaniel College Thursday as officials clean up what the college reported was a minor chemical spill.

Eaton and Lewis halls were temporarily closed to faculty, staff and students, campus officials said before 10 a.m.

A lab chemical had spilled in Eaton Hall, and it was in the process of being cleaned up, authorities reported at 11:25 a.m. The spill was not life-threatening, according to McDaniel College officials.

First responders—including hazmat personnel, police officers and firefighters—were at the scene, WJZ reported.
