School Alert: Carroll County Public Schools Delay Opening
BREAKING: Due to weather, Carroll County Public Schools and McDaniel College altered the schedule on Friday, Jan. 6.
WESTMINSTER, MD — Schools will open two hours late on Friday in Carroll County, officials announced.
"Schools will be opening 2 hours late today, Friday, January 6," Carroll County Public Schools posted on the school system's website Friday morning.
The Y of Central Maryland programming will also be delayed two hours in Carroll County.

McDaniel College will delay opening until 10 a.m. on Friday.

Due to the overnight snowfall, transportation officials encouraged drivers to expect slick conditions.
"Allow extra time for your morning commute," the Maryland Transportation Authority advised. "Potential remains for slick spots on untreated surfaces. If it looks wet, think ice!"
