St. John School students donate warm socks for area homeless

The St. John Catholic School Running Eagle Cross-Country Team was honored to lead a recent sock donation drive to help area homeless families. Socks are one of the least donated items to homeless shelters and one of the most needed, especially during the winter season. Warm socks could make the difference of a person losing toes or staving off the threat of frostbite. At the last Cross-Country meet of the season held in Westminster on Friday, November 6, 2015, St. John Catholic School families and visiting runners and donated over 250 pairs of new, warm socks. The sock donations were presented to Human Services Program of Carroll County Inc. and its Cold Weather Shelter.
St. John Catholic School is a faith-based private school in Carroll County serving students Pre-K through Grade 8. Service learning is a valuable part of the St. John Catholic School experience for all its students. For more information, visit www.SJWESTschool.org .
