Carroll County Public Schools Updates Weather Decision On Feb 5

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Carroll County will be closed on Monday, Feb. 5. School officials made the announcement Monday morning after previously calling for a delay.

After a re-evaluation, Carroll County Public Schools officials decided to close schools on Monday, Feb. 5. Liberal leave is in effect for school system employees.

Maryland State Police said multiple crashes were being reported across the area Monday morning, particularly on overpasses, bridges and untreated surfaces.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Monday alerting drivers that roads may appear wet, while in reality they are icy. People should give themselves extra time to get to their destinations and exercise caution on the roads, weather officials advised.

Carroll Community College will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5.

McDaniel College will delay opening until noon on Monday, Feb. 5.
