Weather Update From Carroll County Public Schools On Feb 7 2018

Carroll County Public Schools updated the decision for Wednesday, Feb. 7.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Schools will be closed for students in Carroll County Public Schools on Wednesday, Feb. 7. School officials made the announcement Wednesday morning in an update to a previous announcement.

On the administrative side, Carroll County school offices and the central office will open at 10 a.m.

Carroll County is under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to transition to freezing rain, then rain by late Wednesday afternoon, weather officials say.

Forecasters are calling for anywhere from a coating to 1 inch of snow and sleet. The highest amounts of accumulation will be north and west of Interstate 95, weather officials say.

Roads may be icy, and drivers should anticipate slippery roads and limited visibility, the winter weather advisory states.

Other Delays

Carroll County government offices, Carroll County senior centers and the northern landfill will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

McDaniel College will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
