School officials in Carroll County made a decision about Thursday.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Carroll County will be closed on Thursday, March 22. School officials made the decision Wednesday night. At the time, more than a foot of snow was on the ground in parts of the county.

Schools will be closed for students on Thursday, March 22, according to Carroll County Public Schools.

For staff in Carroll County Public Schools, central offices and school offices will open at 10 a.m., officials said.

News that schools would be closed for students comes after more than a foot of snow fell in Carroll County on Wednesday.

  • The Carroll County Public Schools Outstanding Teacher Awards that had been planned for March 21 will now be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at Winters Mill High School.
